Our history

Since its foundation in 1965, Reynaers Aluminium has evolved from a small local business into a leading European player, driven by innovative ideas and an unwavering commitment to excellence, a journey that has culminated in the formation of Reynaers Group, which now includes brands such as Forster, Roval, Alural, Bloxer, Somalu, and ATA IT.

    1965

    Jan Reynaers founded Aluminium Construction Reynaers in Duffel, Belgium. The main product: self-designed aluminium windows and doors.

    1980

    Reynaers Aluminium expanded and began developing profile insulation, entering the European market.

  • Reynaers Aluminium 1993
    1993

    Reynaers Aluminium improved product quality and explored growth markets such as Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey, and the Middle East.

  • Expansion of Helmond office - Roval
    2000

    Roval (founded in 1959) was acquired by Reynaers Group, moved to Helmond, and became Roval Aluminium B.V.

  • Reynaers Aluminium 2004
    2004

    Reynaers Aluminium became active globally, with new facilities emerging in Asia and North America.

  • 2005 - Somalu
    2005

    The acquisition of Somalu (founded in 1982 in Castres) expanded Reynaers Group's portfolio.

  • Alural
    2016

    The acquisition of Alural Group (founded in 1987) further expanded Reynaers Group's portfolio.

  • 2017 - Roval
    2017

    Expansion of the Helmond office with an additional 500 m² of office and meeting spaces for Roval.

  • Forster - 2018
    2018

    The acquisition of steel profile expert Forster (founded in 1874 in Arbon) and Bloxer (founded in 1985 in Villafranca Padovana) expanded the portfolio beyond aluminium solutions.

  • Forster Campus - 2022
    2022

    Start of construction of the Forster Campus and following the Science Based Targets initiative, Reynaers Group commits to reduce its direct and indirect emissions with 47% by 2030.

  • Forster Campus - 2024
    2024

    Forster is moving to a new headquarters in Romanshorn, Switzerland, the first building in Switzerland with LEED Gold certification.
